Partnerships

At AENEAS, collaboration is at the heart of our mission to strengthen Europe’s leadership and technological sovereignty. By forging strategic partnerships across domains such as 6G, quantum technologies, photonics, and, of course, the whole value chain around semiconductors, we work together to address challenges and drive progress for a sustainable and competitive Europe. These partnerships are formalised through Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or Associate Memberships, creating a foundation for long-term cooperation and cross-fertilisation.

6G-IA: Building Synergies for Future Connectivity

AENEAS and the 6G-IA signed an MoU to build on the collaboration established through the EU’s COREnect Coordination and Support Action (CSA) under Horizon 2020. COREnect brought together European industry and R&D leaders from the microelectronics and telecommunications sectors to develop a strategic roadmap for next-generation connectivity systems and components.

This partnership aims to strengthen synergies between the private European ICT sector and the ECS ecosystem represented by AENEAS, targeting advancements in telecommunications networks and services. Together, AENEAS and 6G-IA aim to pave the way for European leadership in future connectivity.

Quantum Technologies: Advancing Innovation with QuIC

On October 12, 2022, AENEAS and the European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC) signed an MoU to formalise communication channels and foster collaboration on quantum and semiconductor technologies. This partnership aims to stimulate discussions on the EU Chips Act and drive joint activities on shared priorities. By combining expertise, AENEAS and QuIC are taking a significant step towards integrating quantum technologies with semiconductor advancements, ensuring Europe remains at the forefront of these transformative industries.

Photonics: Enabling Europe’s Transition

AENEAS supports the advancement of photonics through its endorsement of Photonics21 300mm Photonics White Paper, which outlines Europe’s need to evolve to 300mm manufacturing. This collaboration highlights the critical role of photonics in Europe’s innovation landscape, addressing key areas such as optical technologies and their integration with microelectronics. Through this partnership, AENEAS underscores its commitment in supporting Europe’s leadership in photonics.

Pôle TES: A Shared Vision on Digital Competitiveness

Pôle TES, the French digital competitiveness cluster in Normandy, is an Associate Member of AENEAS. With an ecosystem of 150 members, including large companies, SMEs, and research institutions, Pôle TES drives innovation through technologies focusing on security, interoperability, and reliability. Through this partnership, AENEAS extends its outreach to a strong regional ecosystem.

SEMI Europe: Promoting Semiconductor Skills Development

As an Associate Member, SEMI Europe collaborates with AENEAS to advance skills development in the semiconductor sector. SEMI is leading the European Chips Skills Academy Project, where AENEAS is one of the key partners responsible for organising the ECS Summer School to nurture the next generation of talents. This partnership acknowledges the critical role of skills in driving innovation and ensuring Europe’s technological sovereignty.

ACSIEL: Strengthening the French Electronics Ecosystem

ACSIEL Alliance Electronique, the professional organisation representing the entire electronics value chain in France, is an Associate Member of AENEAS. From academic research to manufacturing and training, ACSIEL’s integrated ecosystem aligns perfectly with AENEAS’ objectives. Both organisations support innovation and growth in the French and European electronics sectors, ensuring a cohesive and competitive industrial landscape.
