“Chips Act workshop – How to Reserve the Semiconductors Skills Shortage?” will take place on Friday, 2 December, 9:00 – 13:00 CET, in Brussels (first, plenary part will be possibly hybrid, tbc). This event is organised by SEMI and the European Commission to discuss industry needs, roadblocks, and best practices. Current initiatives on skills and their outcomes will be presented. After a first, plenary part, on-site participants will be split in 3-4 groups, which will discuss topics such as facilitation of mobility, upskilling and reskilling in microelectronics, upgrading and access to laboratories, anticipating the skills for the future, etc.
The aim of this four-hour session is to develop and agree on the next steps that are need to be taken collectively to start reversing the semiconductors skills shortage in Europe.
