PENTA and EURIPIDES² Announce a 2019 Synchronised Call
PENTA and EURIPIDES² are EUREKA Clusters
Paris, September 4, 2018 – For the first time, two EUREKA-funded clusters dedicated to collaborative industrial innovation – EURIPIDES² and PENTA – are joining forces and creating a synchronised call.
EURIPIDES² and PENTA are successful EUREKA clusters supporting the Electronic Components and Systems (ECS) value chain. Both programmes are driven by the same technology roadmap, namely, the ECS Strategic Research Agenda. As the digital revolution gains momentum, collaborative innovation projects must increasingly work along the value chain. By launching this synchronised call in 2019, PENTA and EURIPIDES² are supporting this trend, bringing together a larger cross section of the ECS community and so creating a larger innovation ecosystem.
This synchronisation of activities will also lead to engagement with a broader range of funding countries – Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Turkey. Projects will thus have access to wider National public funding resources and even more diversified partnership opportunities.
Furthermore, the ECS community will benefit from a simplified funding system, with common project management processes and tools. Overall, the synchronised call will provide large enterprises, SMEs, research and technology organisations and academia serving the digital revolution with an efficient and effective project management process, higher funding chances and an increased level of support during the project submission cycle and beyond.
“The world is changing rapidly as the digital revolution progresses, and programmes that support innovation in this area must change as well. By combining our resources as EURIPIDES2 and PENTA, we can bring a dynamic new approach to meet the needs of the ECS community and the public authorities who invest in our programmes,” states Peter Connock, PENTA Director.
“In the digital world, collaboration is the key to innovation. Through this synchronised call, EURIPIDES² and PENTA, are increasing and widening international cooperation and the creation of collaborative ecosystems that connect the entire value chain,” states Jochen Langheim, EURIPIDES² Chairman.
About the PENTA programme (managed by the AENEAS Industrial Association)
PENTA is a EUREKA cluster whose purpose is to catalyse research, development and innovation in areas of micro and nanoelectronics enabled systems and applications – where there is shared national and industrial interest. Based on 5 key application areas and 5 key capabilities of the Electronics Components and Systems Strategic Research Area (ECS-SRA) for its fourth call, PENTA programme contributes to the development of electronic solutions with the opportunity for rapid competitive exploitation and a strong impact on European societal challenges. The PENTA project team is supporting SMEs, large corporations, research organisations and universities by facilitating access to funding, fostering collaborative work and creating consortia.
