Chips JU Online Consultation Workshop on EU Material and Equipment Qualification on Pilot Lines

05 Oct 2026

As part of the preparation of the Chips JU Work Programme 2027, Chips JU is organising an online consultation workshop to explore how the Pilot Lines established under the Chips for Europe Initiative can support the qualification of semiconductor materials and equipment developed or produced in Europe.

📅 5 October 2026
🕙 15:30 – 17:30 CEST
💻 Online

The workshop will examine how Pilot Lines can help widen the range of qualified European alternatives available to the semiconductor industry and reduce dependencies on single sources of supply.

It will bring together Pilot Line projects, European suppliers of semiconductor materials and equipment, industrial users and stakeholders from across the Electronic Components and Systems community to exchange views on:

  • Materials and equipment for which European alternatives exist or could be developed, and where qualification remains a barrier to adoption;
  • Qualification capabilities and needs across the Pilot Lines;
  • Suppliers’ and industrial users’ experiences with qualification and how Pilot Line results could support qualification in industrial facilities;
  • The potential scope, expected outcomes and contributors of a topic in the Work Programme 2027.

The workshop will include contributions from the European Commission, Chips JU, Pilot Lines, suppliers, industrial users and industry associations, followed by an open Q&A and discussion. The outcomes of the consultation will inform the Chips JU boards in their decision on the topics of the Work Programme 2027.
