On behalf of the AENEAS team, we wish to express our deepest condolences on the passing of Pasquale Pistorio. His loss is felt across the entire European microelectronics community, where his vision and leadership have left a lasting mark.
Throughout his career, Pistorio played a central role in building and strengthening Europe’s position in the global semiconductor industry. As CEO of SGS and later STMicroelectronics, he transformed the company into one of the world’s leading players, driving both technological excellence and industrial growth.
Beyond his industrial achievements, he was also a strong advocate for collaborative research and innovation. His active support for European programmes such as JESSI and MEDEA helped to lay the foundations of the ecosystem we continue to build upon today.
Pasquale Pistorio’s legacy will endure through the many advances he made possible and the inspiration he gave to generations of innovators. The entire AENEAS community pays tribute to his remarkable contribution and extends heartfelt sympathy to his family, colleagues, and all who had the privilege to work with him.
