As part of the preparatory process for its Work Programme 2026, the Chips Joint Undertaking is hosting a dedicated Workshop on Scaling Advanced Photonic Technologies, one of the Innovation Action (IA) topics currently under consideration. This Online session will take place on 8 July, 10:00 – 12:30 CEST.
Europe’s leadership in photonics depends on accelerating industrial uptake and enhancing production capabilities. The proposed topic would support high Technology Readiness Level (TRL 5–8) projects focused on industrial-scale integration and manufacturing of advanced photonic technologies. The goal: reinforce European competitiveness, foster strategic autonomy in key components, and ensure a resilient and secure supply chain.
This interactive workshop will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to share their views on the key challenges, needs, and priorities related to scaling advanced photonic technologies. The agenda will include:
