AENEAS, in collaboration with European Chips Skills Academy (ECSA), EPoSS and INSIDE, is pleased to announce the third edition of the ECS Summer School. This highly anticipated event will take place at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (Hungary) from August 24–29, 2025, offering a unique opportunity for selected students to dive into the world of microelectronics and semiconductor technologies.
Empowering the Next Generation of ECS Talent
With the theme “Fascinating Electronics for a Cool World”, the ECS Summer School aims to inspire and attract new talent to the European Electronic Components and Systems (ECS) community. Through hands-on sessions, expert-led discussions, and networking opportunities, students will explore key topics such as:
- Sensor interfaces
- Power devices
- Radio-frequency technologies
- Digital applications
Addressing Europe’s Semiconductor Skills Gap
The semiconductor sector faces a critical shortage of skilled professionals, with over 75% of EU companies reporting difficulties in finding qualified talent. Recognizing this challenge, the European Chips Skills Academy (ECSA) was launched in October 2023 to enhance workforce skills, attract new talent, and support reskilling initiatives. The ECS Summer School is a part of this effort, offering students direct exposure to cutting-edge research and industry insights while strengthening Europe’s semiconductor ecosystem.
Who Can Apply?
The ECS Summer School is free of charge for selected students, covering lodging, meals, and travel reimbursement up to €600. It is open to:
- STEM students (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) in EU or associated countries
- Those who have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies and have at least one year remaining
- Students with a strong command of English, as all activities will be conducted in English
How to Apply?
Applications are now open! The selection process will consider:
- A motivation letter
- 1 to 3 recommendation letters (optional)
- Grade transcripts
- Diversity criteria, ensuring gender and geographical balance
The application deadline is set on April 30, 2025 (17:00 CET). Selected students will be notified on June 10, 2025.
