About Competence Centres
Competence Centres in semiconductors are essential to the Chips for Europe Initiative, offering critical technical expertise and training, especially for SMEs to improve their design skills. These centres will support stakeholders along the electronic components and systems value chain, including start-ups and SMEs, by providing essential services and guidance. They will facilitate the use of capacities and facilities, including the design platform and pilot lines, and support stakeholders in developing semiconductor solutions through technology transfer. Additionally, they will address skills shortages by offering training, including workforce upskilling and reskilling. The centres match user needs with expertise within their network and serve as an access point. They also promote the Chips Fund and facilitate access to venture capital, raising awareness, promoting services, and highlighting success stories.
