Prof. Jari Kinaret is the New Executive Director of Chips Joint Undertaking

Congratulations and warm welcome to Jari Kinaret, who assumes the role of Executive Director at Chips Joint Undertaking from today, 16 October 2023.

Prof. Jari Kinaret has been a Professor of Physics at the Chalmers University of Technology and, most notably, since 2013 he served as the Director of the Graphene Flagship, a monumental one-billion-euro research project dedicated to exploring the potential of graphene. Prof. Kinaret’s educational journey began with M.Sc. degrees in theoretical physics and electrical engineering from the University of Oulu in 1986 and 1987, respectively. He continued to excel in his academic pursuits, graduating from MIT with a Ph.D. in physics in 1992. Throughout his career, Prof. Kinaret has worked in various capacities at research institutes and universities in prominent scientific hubs such as Copenhagen, Denmark, and Gothenburg, Sweden. His broad range of experience in both academia and the research sector demonstrates his dedication to advancing the field of physics and nanotechnology.
