On 7-10 June 2022, EuCnC & 6G Summit will take place in Grenoble in the WTC Convention Center. To gather and reinforce synergies between the microelectronics and telecommunications communities, the COREnect workshop will take place and both Xecs and CELTIC-NEXT Eureka Clusters will exhibit on a joint booth.
The 2022 EuCNC & 6G Summit builds on putting together two successful conferences in the area of telecommunications: EuCNC (European Conference on Networks and Communications), supported by the European Commission, and the 6G Summit, originated from the 6G Flagship programme in Finland, one of the very first in its area.
The conference addresses various aspects of Beyond 5G communications systems and networks, and looks already into 6G matters. It brings together cutting-edge research and world-renown industries and businesses, globally attracting in the last years more than 1 300 delegates from more than 40 countries all over the world, to present and discuss the latest results, and an exhibition with more than 70 exhibitors, for demonstrating the technology developed in the area, namely within research projects from EU R&I programmes.
COREnect Workshop in ‘Telecommunications and microelectroncis: How should Europe (re)-act?’
The workshop will take place on Tuesday, 7 June 2022, 14:00.15:30/16:00-17:30.
The purpose of this workshop is to present the key findings of these EGs (i.e., a roadmap on how Europe should (re)act in this area) to a broad ICT audience. Moreover, after 2 years of intensive activities, COREnect’s recommendations will be presented. The feasibility of these recommendations will be discussed by a panel of leading experts in the area.
Based on the initially identified COREnect end-to-end system view with a value chain consideration, COREnect has organised three Expert Groups (EGs) to address the three strategic focus areas within the industry roadmap:
· Expert Group #1 Compute and Store
· Expert Group #2 Connect and Communicate
· Expert Group #3 Sense and Power
As the EuCNC conference is a major event that attracts all key European stakeholders, it offers a unique opportunity to disseminate these findings as to the results of COREnect, but also allows the exchange of ideas and opinions from the participants from the telecommunications sector. Towards this end, the scheduled panel will also operate as an interactive event with the participants.
Session 1
Key findings of the Expert Groups – Expert Groups Chairs: Gerhard Fettweis, TUD, Piet Wambacq, ST Microelectronics; Patrick Pype, NXP.
White Paper – Fredrik Tillman, Ericsson.

Xecs and CELTIC-NEXT, two Eureka Clusters will exhibit showing the synergies between the microelectronics and telecommunications communities.
Xecs and CELTIC-Next, two Eureka CLusters, will jointly exhibit on the booth #9.
Xecs and CELTIC-NEXT aim at demonstrating the existing synergies between the telecommunications and microelectronics communities to create and manage pan-European RD&I projects, get access to national funding and accelerate the path of innovation in telecommunications.
Ready to benefit from pan-European collaborative innovation between Large Enterprises, SMEs, and Research and Technology Organisations? Visit our booth, participate in our project Calls and learn about the economic and societal impact of our projects. Xecs and CELTIC- Next will present the outcomes and impact of some of their successull projects.
Stop by and exchange with Xecs and CELTIC-NEXT representatives about these funding opportunities for your RD&I innovative projects. To visit the booth, registration to the event is mandatory. Please register here.
