PENTA CALL 3 Launch

 

Paris, 4 December 2017 – AENEAS is pleased to announce the third call of the PENTA, launched on December 5th, at the European Forum for Electronic Components & Systems (EFECS).

PENTA is a EUREKA cluster whose purpose is to catalyse research, development and innovation in areas of micro- and nanoelectronics enabled systems and applications where there is shared national and industrial interest. Micro- and nanoelectronics has been identified as a Key Enabling Technology for Europe and a cornerstone of economic and societal development.

Supported by leading countries, large & small companies and research institutes in the electronics value chain across Europe, the call will focus on strategic challenges in the Transport & Smart MobilityHealth & Well-Being and Digital Industry areas, supported by related enabling technologies. Other areas will be considered where high levels of industrial and public interest exist. Deadline for new project submission is February 13th , 2017.

PENTA is a 5-year programme that stimulates collaboration between European industrial and technology organisations. It covers the full electronics value chain and helps create or maintain European leadership in key application areas. The long-term programme ambition is to stimulate up to €1.5b of additional investment in research & development in the Electronics Components and Systems (ECS) industry.

Much more than just a funding programme, PENTA is designed to attract and support the best innovative ideas from across Europe. By bringing together talented men & women from organisations of all sizes in collaborative teams, PENTA will help create the next generation of advanced technologies that will be needed to meet Europe’s economic and societal needs.

PENTA is managed by AENEAS, a non-profit industrial association established in 2006 whose purpose is to promote Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) in order to strengthen the competitiveness of European industry along the ECS value chain.
